WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 9, 2022) – The National Rental Home Council (NRHC) today
announced the formation of its first local chapter, the North Carolina Rental Home Council
(NCRHC). The chapter will bring together leaders from North Carolina’s single-family rental
(SFR) home industry, uniting North Carolina SFR industry stakeholders to network, share best
practices, and engage on policies impacting the state’s single-family rental home market. The
NCRHC will serve members with industry-specific educational and social opportunities,
business benefits and recruiting tools, and other services not currently available at the local level
for those in the SFR industry.
“The launch of the North Carolina Rental Home Council marks a significant milestone in the
ongoing development and maturation of the single-family rental home industry,” said David
Howard, executive director of NRHC. “We are thrilled with the creation of NCRHC and look
forward to engaging in a collaborative way to support the efforts of industry stakeholders,
housing market decision-makers, and civic and community leaders throughout the state to create
a stronger, more vibrant housing market.”
The NCRHC is led by Co-Chairs Amanda Blackmon and Daniel Ray. Amanda Blackmon has
nearly 20 years of experience in North Carolina and currently serves as vice president of
operations for Invitation Homes in the Carolinas. Daniel Ray is vice president of business
development for Preferred Floor & Tile in Charlotte, a company that has been working with
single-family rental home companies for over a decade.
“The single-family rental industry plays an important role in meeting the growing demand for
housing options across North Carolina, and we are excited to formally unite a diverse mix of
stakeholders to learn from each other and educate others about the benefits of this growing
industry,” said Amanda Blackmon. “Together, owners and owner-operators, builders, vendor
partners, and other service providers of single-family rentals are working to strengthen
neighborhoods and address challenges impacting today’s growing rental housing market. We
look forward to actively engaging with our communities.”
“The single-family rental industry supports jobs across various industries in North Carolina
through deep and longstanding relationships with builders, vendors, and service providers,” said
Daniel Ray. “Convening stakeholders that are active members of the community will be crucial
to supporting our local business environment and better understanding the industry’s impact.”
NCRHC is planning to hold an inaugural kick-off event in October in Charlotte, NC. Additional
details to be announced.
