NRHC Georgia Chapter

Welcome to the Georgia Chapter of NRHC!

Legislative / Market Information

In April of this year, Georgia Governor, Brian Kemp, signed into law the “Georgia Squatter Reform Act,” a bill ensuring legal protections for property owners against acts of illegal occupation, otherwise known as trespassing or squatting. As a result, property owners in Georgia now have an assured means of safeguarding their homes and communities from incidents of illegal occupation.

The National Rental Home Council (NRHC), in collaboration with our state chapter affiliate, the Georgia Rental Home Council (GRHC), was proud to play a key role in passing the “Georgia Squatter Reform Act.” NRHC/GRHC members, with the assistance of legal and legislative counsel, helped draft the bill and worked with legislators to ensure passage, which ultimately took place with overwhelming bipartisan support in the state House and Senate.

As we look to the opening of the state’s next legislative session in 2025, NRHC/GRHC is preparing to be active on a number of fronts relating to the single-family rental home industry and the rights and protections of Georgia rental home owners, operators, and builders. Areas of interest include HOA oversight, property tax administration, and build-to-rent regulations, among others.

Access to the NRHC Business Directory

NRHC is excited to announce the launch of our vendor directory of service providers, business partners, and vendors. Spearheaded by NRHC’s SFR Industry Partners Council, the directory will serve as an indispensable resource for owners, operators, builders, and other NRHC owner members to locate and connect with trusted business partners serving the SFR/BTR market. The directory will include full contact information for participating companies; a listing of firms by product/service type; and a company listing by geographic market.
